Buku Jalanan Chow Kit

Buku Jalanan was established in 2012. It started the first street bookshop near the university and it has spread to 70 locations around the world. Their concept integrates small libraries, reading clubs, art exhibitions and workshops, trying to attract people to read and regain the space, and generate imagination.

They believe in “BACA” ( the Malay word “reading”), which is also a shortened phrase for Books, Arts, Culture and Activism. Buku Jalanan also encouraged participants to discuss their thoughts on the books they read, and share their views from economics to ecology.
