From Gallery to Public Space

Artist Talk by Regina Pemsl

In her artistic work Regina Pemsl is dealing with pictures/images/appearances, which emerge suddenly in everyday life and in this way are able to open a new view on the present.

Unexpectedness of the unusual, to leave the institutional frame, or the tension between private and public life are means to turn the viewers gaze as unprejudiced as possible to pictures/installations, their perception and to places, their problems, structures and possibilities.
In recent years, her work focuses on developing artistic strategies that encourage people to participate in the shaping of their environment.
