Maike Häusling is an international resident artist in Lostgens’ Contemporary Art Space. She is a multimedia artist come from Frankfurt am Main Germany. She was born on 1974 in Cologne (Germany). She studies visual communication in University of Art and Design, Offenbach. The main focus in her studies are experimental space concept, painting, film, metaphysics and art history.
She works as a freelance artist since 2008 and have a Studio by basis e.V., Frankfurt. She is working in the fields of installation, video, painting and collaboration with other artistic disciplines. She recently expanded her artistic process and interests into sound and acoustics. She presented her ideas by showing her temporary installations in public space. For examples, Raise a flag, Tower N15 and 4‘2.418.960’’.
Lastly, she introduced her temporary works in public spaces. During her residency in Lostgens’, she exchanges and collaborates with religious artists, musicians and other residents in Kuala Lumpur. She has started her mind with recording the different sounds in Kuala Lumpur, and also collecting the different features through exploring the city, she hopes to use the specials of Kuala Lumpur to become the materials in arts. Maike Häusling‘s has planned to organise an arts exhibition on the end of October 2018 in Lostgens’, and also a workshop about public space arts.
