In early 2020, the Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Hokkien Association put forward an unprecedented proposal to invite artists to utilize the spacious cemetery as a stage for site-specific art installation exhibition with the theme “Jelajak”.

We hope that this project will contribute to the social data for future interdisciplinary academic study or professional research, expand the potential of borderless online exhibition in the era of New Normal, and promote open dialogues and exchange of ideas in cyberspace.
Underflow intends to uncover the historical development and cultural relationship that have long been covered by political borders between Malaysia and Taiwan.
